with a lens versus the vvorld...

Everything started on the 20th of March 2007 at the infamous show of the Norwegian black metal band Taake in Essen when I first ventured out to gather live photographs. Initially working under the moniker of Blutbilder before changing to Nekrographie in 2009.

Over the course of the following years I ended up working as resident photographer with a variety of organisers, festivities and artists while covering performances, rituals and processions within the borders of EnglandScotlandNorwayFinlandEstonia, GermanyThe NetherlandsBelgiumAustriaSwitzerlandFranceItaly, The Czech RepublicSlovenia and The United States

To balance out the rock and roll lifestyle and make better use of the time spent outside clubs and pubs while travelling, of teeth and thorns was created around 2010. First named facetten, of teeth and thorns became an output for everything from urban exploration to landscape photography.

On the 8th of August 2017 at the height of an identity crisis/burnout I decided to cease all live activities and to return Nekrographie along with its voracious persona to the emptiness it always sought to embrace.

After over two hundred captured performances and gatherings this chapter seemed closed for good.

...until in December 2017, out of the necessity to have a new outlet for live photography outside the well-trodden paths and artistic dead ends, Sequence 2501 came into life.

In February 2021, almost a full year since Covid-19 brought the world to a stop, I was asked if I'd be interested to contribute to the then upcoming Morast 7" which, within a matter of days, led to the decision to unearth the old banner of Nekrographie again...

Since the Fall of 2021 Nekrographie, Sequence 2501 and of teeth and thorns operate under the aegis of Embrace Emptiness.
